Generic Savings Account

• The rate of interest payable is very nominal on savings accounts. At present it is between 3% to 5% p.a in Nigeria.
• A minimum amount has to be kept as a savings account to keep it functioning (N500 for SHINE MFB.)
• No loan facility is provided against the savings account.
• Cheques are not allowed on savings accounts for withdrawal except on some hybrid accounts.
